Russia announced the modernization of the FPV fiber optic drone Prince Vandal, which can now operate at a distance between 50 and 65 km.
The information was shared by Oleksiy Chadayev, CEO of the Ushkuynik Research and Production Center, who stated that the equipment has started being used in attacks against targets located in the enemy’s rear areas.
Among the main improvements is the increased operational range, made possible by new fiber optic reels. The drone also received an electronic target sensor, which allows it to detonate either remotely, directly by the operator, or upon direct contact with the target.
According to Chadayev, the production of the Prince Vandal reaches about 50,000 units per month. The model stands out for its high image quality, signal stability until impact, and difficulty of detection, as it does not emit radio control signals or video transmission signals.
